"In high school, I was voted most likely to make a funny face. Now, I make funny faces for a living."
Payton is a spirited performer and creative currently based in Southern Virginia.
Best known for her quirky take on a leading lady, Payton is a nationally acclaimed lyric soprano. As well as being an accomplished musician, she is a UK-trained classical actor with a witty command of classical text and musical theatre alike. This "Shakespearean Disney princess" loves the color yellow, singing notes so high they hurt your ears, and bluegrass music.
Payton was born and raised in North Carolina and finds every opportunity she can to return to the mountains of her home state. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
Offstage, Payton is the founder and host of Off Center Stage, a podcast that explores the inner workings of theatre artists around the world. She is also a freelance writer and web designer.
